SUNBURY - Timmy Ritzman, 59, of 1966 Brush Valley Road, passed
away on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, in the cardiac intensive care unit at Geisinger
Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Aug. 7, 1949, in Shamokin, a son of the late Edwin F. and Katherine
A. (Jeremiah) Ritzman. He was married to the former Rita Ellen Little, the love
of his life, on Nov. 15, 1969, by Father Luke in St. Stephen Church, Coal
Township. She died Jan. 5, 2008.
Timmy was a loving "Dad" and "Pap-Pap," and his joy in life was spending time
with his four grandchildren.
The Sunbury Social Club on Packer Island, Sunbury, was a huge part of his life.
It was his pride and joy, and he loved to be at the club with his many
"extended" family members and friends. Timmy spent countless hours tending to
its many needs. Groundskeeper and dock master were two of the many titles he
held. At the time of his passing, he was the vice president and at one time was
the president and a director. He also was chairman of the Six-Week Club. He
loved spending time on the "Island," especially with his many friends at Fantasy
Island Campground.
Timmy also was a member of the Fairview Fire Company and Fairview Gun Club, both
in Coal Township, and the Keystone Gun Club.
He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Tracy and Jesse L. Zerbe Jr.
of Coal Township and Tammy Ritzman, at home; three granddaughters, Alex Zerbe
and Tamara and Elle Ritzman; one grandson, Toby Zerbe; three sisters and one
brother-in-law, Susan Metzinger and Kathleen and Ben Kehler, all of Coal
Township, and Michal Herb of Trevorton Road; one brother and sister-in-law,
Randy and Debbie Ritzman of Paxinos; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
In addition to his wife, Rita, and parents, he was preceded in death by two
brothers, David and Paul Ritzman, and two sisters, Mary Ann Kehler and Sandy
Ritzman.
Graveside services will be held at noon Friday in All Saints Cemetery, Route 54,
Elysburg. At Timmy's request, a celebration of life will take place at the
Sunbury Social Club, 352 East Drive, Packer Island, immediately following the
graveside service.
The family requests that there be no floral arrangements and memorial
contributions be made to the Sunbury Social Club, 352 East Drive, Sunbury, PA
17801, for construction of a gazebo at the club in Timmy's memory.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W.
Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township.
It just
won't be the same around the campground! We'll never forget ya Timmy!
